Foye Glen (Wilson) Helms

Foye Glen Wilson-Helms was born in Brundidge, Alabama on May 30, 1951 to James and Bernice Wilson, both preceded her in death. Sister Foye departed this life on July 25, 2020. Siblings who preceded her in death include James Earl Wilson, Roy Lee Wilson, Fannie Davenport, Vernell Raines, and Josephine Lampley. She attended Hillcrest School and graduated from Pike County High School in Brundidge, Alabama. Sister Foye met and was united in Holy Matrimony to Clifford Helms. To this union two children were born. Sister Foye joined Hope Well African Methodist Episcopal Church in Brundidge, Alabama at an early age. Later years, she became a member of Alabama Avenue Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama, where she remained until her demise. She was a member of the Senior Choir. She worked with the Missionary Society, Usher Board, and the St. Mary’s District Women Auxiliary. She leaves to cherish her memory a loving son, Jeffrey Wayne Helms (Laura) and loving daughter, Annie Bernice Helms, both of Dothan, Alabama. Her sisters, Richie Pearl Sly of St. Petersburg, Florida; Betty Kinson (Herbie) and Evelyn Flournoy of Brundidge, Alabama. Her brothers, Arthur Knox Wilson (Patricia) of St. Petersburg, Florida; Walter Wilson (Gennall) of Dothan, Alabama; and Charles Mac Wilson of Brundidge, Alabama. Her brothers-in-law, Virgil Raines and R.Z. Lampley of St. Petersburg, Florida; and grandchildren, Desmond Helms and Antwan Green, both of Dothan, Alabama; four aunts, Arnetta Jones of Newark, New Jersey, Mary Lene Potts of San Bernardino, California, Melowese Wilson of Brundidge, Alabama and Willie Pearl Wilson of Dumfries, Virginia. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, Special friends, Mrs. Georgia Ann Jones and Doris Bush, both of Dothan, Alabama.
